Born in China, raised in the Netherlands, and now I am back in China to find my roots.

I was born in Guangzhou, at the age of 6 I moved to the Netherlands with my mom. I always felt like I didn’t really belong in the Netherlands. Some people might find themselves in a similar situation. Being an inbetweener is really hard, I don’t feel like I am a Dutch or a Chinese person. So I started my journey in order to find out who I want to be and who I really am.

In February 2015 till July 2015, I went on an exchange in South Korea. I had the time of my life and met my boyfriend at the student club. Now I am doing an internship in Qingdao, which is on the other side of Incheon, with only an ocean that separates us. My internship location was not solely chosen because of this reason but also as an opportunity for me to study Chinese. On 31 August I started my internship at XMandarin in Qingdao and I am writing this blog to share about my experience.
